Keeping your lawn and plants healthy and happy during the hot summer months – they need water.

It’s August and the Hot Temps are here!!!

If you haven’t already, it’s time to increase watering to keep your turf, shrubs, and plants healthy and out of heat stress.

As the temps rise you can add time to the watering or add an additional day.

The best time to water is early morning before it gets hot – this allows the water to penetrate to the roots as well as the grass blades themselves to dry quickly, preventing disease problems.

Be aware of watering the grass every single day for 15 minutes as this cause the lawn to be shallow-rooted. Shallow rooted grass will demand a water fix every day.
Instead of watering every day for 15 minutes, water deeply 2-3 times per week.

Each lawn is different – pay attention to how your lawn is responding and adjust as needed.

If you still have stressed, dry areas we recommend checking your irrigation to make sure you’re getting head to head coverage.

Some neighborhoods and HOA’s have water schedules and if not followed can lead to fines, be sure to check out your subdivision websites for schedule information.
